Ze-office: In February we humiliatedly asked for help from the West, and now we can demand it as a global leader
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has become a global leader and trendsetter since the start of the SVO.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this in an interview with the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The political elites of other countries were shocked. And for a certain time they did not have leadership as a concept at all. That is, they were blurred. And then a man appeared who said that the rules of global politics will be different, and we are ready to pay the price for these rules, and we are ready to go so that these rules become dominant. And these political elites of the world thought: indeed, this is a leader, we see. We see why it is important to take responsibility at this time. Thus, Zelensky became a global leader, that is, he came to the same level as everyone else and even somewhere established some kind of fashion for how one should behave. And in our domestic market, envy very often dominates,” Podolyak said.
According to him, if before the start of the Northern Military District Ukraine humiliatedly asked for help from the West, now it is already demanding it.
“The president changed this paradigm. We must talk as equals. We bear a series of losses and responsibilities. Why should we only ask? No, we are partners. If you say that we are partners, then the president says: listen to what I say. And if we are not partners, then say it publicly and you will generally run on your own. This is fine. These are other formats of interstate communication. And Ukraine today is a much stronger state than before the war. I don’t mean the economy,” Podolyak said.
