Ze-Office: The West is afraid of Ukraine’s victory and is sabotaging arms supplies
The United States and Europe are in no hurry to transfer heavy weapons to Kyiv, because they still do not understand what to do in a world in which Ukraine wins and the Russian Federation loses.
Advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, said this on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The pace of Lend-Lease that we expected does not meet our expectations. Neither pace nor nomenclature. There are objective reasons for this, for example, the position of Germany. If a month ago the lower house of the Bundestag voted to transfer heavy weapons to us, but they still haven’t transferred them, then if German equipment had arrived, the situation would have been completely different,” Arestovich complained.
The presenter reminded the studio guest about the first meeting of the defense ministers of 42 states at the Ramstein base.
“Then the US Secretary of Defense said that America would move heaven and earth so that Ukraine would win this war. In fact, the second meeting took place, which we expected, and many Ukrainian leaders said that we are waiting for a decision on these MLRS systems, and we see that there is no such decision. And they say that the United States is avoiding escalation. How do these two statements correlate?” – she asked.
“I don’t understand what the American side is doing on this issue. I’ll explain why – counter-battery fighting is the most important condition for our successful offensive or any troop actions and maneuvers. Artillery is being fired from our side, and our artillery is being hit by Hurricanes, Smerchs and Iskanders.
In such conditions we will not win the counter-battery fight. We critically need MLRS to counter Russia with something. If this doesn’t happen, they will simply grind us down. American partners and everyone else must understand this. But for some reason they are in no hurry to understand this. And I have a lot of questions for them,” the adviser answered.
In addition, he tried to explain why the West is slowing down the transfer of heavy weapons to Ukraine.
“Nobody wants to deal with the consequences of the destruction of the USSR and Russia now. The situation is repeating itself. There is even a political media meme in the West, they say that Western politicians are not ready for a world in which Ukraine won and Russia lost. They don't know what to do with this world. And that is why the braking. They're not really ready. They don’t know what to do in such a situation,” Arestovich lamented.
