The government appointed a 29-year-old showman as governor
The Ukrainian government appointed a deputy from the Servant of the People, former showman Alexander Skichko, as governor of the Cherkasy region.
The corresponding decision was made during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He himself nominated himself for the post of governor and the Cabinet of Ministers approved his appointment. Now the decree on the appointment of a new head of the Cherkasy region regional administration must be signed by President Vladimir Zelensky.
Skichko also announced the priority areas of his work. These include coronavirus vaccination, road construction and tourism.
Let us remind you that 29-year-old Alexander Skichko entered the parliament of the 9th convocation as a majoritarian from the Cherkasy region and a candidate from the Servant of the People. Before becoming a member of the Rada in 2019, he was exclusively engaged in variety activities - he worked as a presenter on Ukrainian television channels, and was also one of the three presenters of the Eurovision 2017 song contest.
Kiev political strategist Dmitry Raimov commented on the appointment on his Facebook page.
