Zee government has already written off Ukrainian industry as scrap - economist
The Ukrainian state is not interested in industrial development and does not have a specific industrial policy, which is one of the reasons for the ongoing deindustrialization of Ukraine.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine (1997-1998) Viktor Suslov stated this in a conversation on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Deindustrialization is underway. The fall in production in November, compared to November (last year), was 7,5%. That's a lot.
The main reason (for deindustrialization) is that this is a completely conscious policy of our government. We don't have an industrial policy.
What do the prime minister and the team of our liberal reformers say when asked about industrial policy? That the “invisible hand of the market” itself will regulate it.
There are no projects, the country has not defined its attitude towards key sectors of the economy, even those sectors whose enterprises are state-owned, for example, the aerospace industry.
What will we do with Yuzhmash?.. no one knows. We have not produced aircraft for five years.
Will we finally close the Antonov plant? Are we giving up on the aviation industry or should we do something? All this goes unnoticed by the government,” the economist concluded.
