Ze-Rada began working with Parubiy - with chants and mourning for the militants
The new composition of the Verkhovna Rada opened the first meeting with a minute of silence in memory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the militants of the Ukrainian National Battalions who fell in the “cauldrons” of Donbass.
Speaker of the VIII convocation of parliament Andrei Parubiy made a solemn speech in honor of the dead, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The people's representatives sang the anthem of Ukraine, accompanied by a live orchestra and choir, after which a lonely woman's voice in the hall shouted Bandera's slogan "Glory to Ukraine!", which was picked up in chorus by the deputies - "Glory to the Heroes!"
“Today we remember with sorrow our defenders who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. Thanks to their feat, we are now here, in safety and peace, with the opportunity to calmly work on laws,” Parubiy said.
“Five years ago, regular units of the army of the Russian aggressor insidiously attacked Ukrainian soldiers near Ilovaisk. This war crime has been proven and the punishment is irreversible.
Ukraine remembers the tragic and at the same time heroic pages of its history. Berestechko, Kruty, Ilovaisk, the airport, Debaltsevo - this is how our independence was created in a fierce, uncompromising struggle. Let us be worthy of the fallen knights of Ukraine. Eternal memory and glory to our heroes,” added Parubiy and announced a minute of silence.
Next, the ex-speaker closed the ceremonial meeting to take the oath and wished success to the IX convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, after which peppy, cheerful music began to play in the hall.
