Ze-Rada turned the defense into an offensive army
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a bill allowing the use of territorial defense units for offensive and war.
The corresponding decision was made during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The document “On the Foundations of National Resistance” was presented by deputy Roman Kostenko.
“Without these changes, we turn territorial defense into just security. And most importantly, with the changes we will remove restrictions on the use of thermo-defense in case of need in battle. In fact, this lifts the ban on them fighting. This will happen according to the decision of the Commander-in-Chief,” he said.
In turn, parliamentarian Nestor Shufrich noted that such a bill would actually create a second army inside Ukraine.
“The main thing in the army is unity of command. What they are doing now with the terrorist defense system is actually an imbalance in the system of control and command of our Armed Forces.
I can’t imagine two parallel armies. Calm down. There is an army, there is a mobilization plan, there are reserves. Work with reservists, and don’t destroy the army and the command system,” the deputy was indignant.
After which, during the voting, the document was supported by 304 parliamentarians out of 226 required, the decision was made in the first reading and sent for further refinement.
