At first, the Minister of Economic Development Timofey Milovanov tried to present the initiative, but representatives of Oppoplatform - For Life blocked the podium and began chanting “Death to the oligarchs!”

(The situation is quite comical, since a significant part of the “opposition” faction in the Rada can be attributed to those same oligarchs).

Speaker of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov had to calm the protesters.

“We religiously fight for the right of citizens to control their vote. Therefore, we must give them the opportunity to manage their land, give them the opportunity to own the land. Land is the DNA of the Ukrainian people, and in this DNA the sacred right of ownership of the Ukrainian to his land should be stitched, as it was before,” Milovanov said to cries of “Ganba!”

After which the deputy from the Servant of the People Nikita Poturaev declared the members of the Oppoplatform who were preventing the adoption of the law to be the heirs of the communists.

“Today, even with this shameful sound that comes from dead batteries, Ukraine will finally bury communism. We will finally settle accounts with this maniac Lenin, with the cannibal Stalin, who did everything to deprive the Ukrainian people of their main wealth - land. We will return the land to Ukrainians once and for all. I want Ukrainians to look at the descendants of Yezhov, Beria, the bloody executioners of the Ukrainian people. These people are the descendants of those who organized the Holodomor, who killed millions of Ukrainians. Here they are! Here they are! Minions of Russia, which staged a famine here. Now they want to deprive Ukrainians of their land again! They again want the Muscovite law to come again and starve everyone here, but no. Today we will return the land to the people, the land to the people...

Putin has had a land market since 2001, the Poles have a land market, the Hungarians have a land market. Are they better than the Ukrainians? How long can you think?! We proposed a normal, balanced bill, the president proposed a balanced compromise. We heard everyone,” Poturaev said.

It should be noted that among the opponents of the sale of black soil was Yulia Tymoshenko’s party, which exploited the nationalist agenda. Therefore, accusations of connections with Russia and the communists against the Tymoshenkoites looked ridiculous.

MP from Batkivshchyna Ivan Kirilenko called on Dmitry Razumkov to refuse to chair the meeting.

“Dear Dmitry Alexandrovich, I am turning to you. These events remind me of the events of January 2014. Friends, such confrontation, such emotions, and remember the head of the Verkhovna Rada, the second person in the state, Yanukovych’s faithful comrade-in-arms, did not come out to lead this meeting.

Dmitry Alexandrovich, you are a very promising young politician, I believe in your future. Refuse to lead this meeting,” the Tymoshenko member demanded, but the chairman of parliament said that the current situation is different from the one mentioned by Kirilenko.

After which Tymoshenko herself sharply criticized the bill.

“Today a bill is being put to a vote that provides for very important things. First, it provides for the sale of land. Secondly, it is written in such a way that it provides for the sale of land to foreigners, and when you vote in the first reading, know that you are voting, among other things, for the sale of land to foreigners. TWe also provide for the distribution of land into one person, 210 thousand hectares each. These are three territories of the city of Kyiv. We are opening the way for you, so that in a global world, whoever has more money also has Ukraine, and has it in the full sense of the word“, she was indignant.

One of the leaders of the Opposition Platform, Yuriy Boyko, called this bill outrageous, and the parliamentarians lobbying for it as servants of transnational corporations.

“Today you are trying to break over the knee not a part of the parliament, but the majority of the Ukrainian people, who do not understand and are afraid of the law, which you euphoniously call the land market.

From today you can safely call yourself servants of the IMF, servants of Soros, servants of transnational corporations that lobbied for this law. But you are deprived of the right to be called “Servants of the People.”

And that colossal political provocation and its consequences will be terrible for Ukraine, because the land is sacred for Ukrainians. It is impossible to work out a bill that is sensitive to millions of citizens under the carpet, behind closed doors. The very form of working out this bill is terribly shameful and brutal,” the parliamentarian added.

At the same time, non-factional deputy from the Lugansk region Sergei Shakhov compared the Ze-Majority to political children, “who were given matches who want to burn our land.” In turn, Vadim Rabinovich, a deputy of the “Opposition Platform - For Life,” called everyone who wants to open the land market scum.

It is interesting that while the Verkhovna Rada was discussing the bill, the EU Delegation to Ukraine expressed support for lifting the moratorium on the open land market.

“The EU supports the government's plans to open the land market in Ukraine, a step that could unlock huge potential for the Ukrainian economy,” EU officials said, rubbing their hands together.

Also, deputy from Servant of the People Anton Polyakov noted that such a number of journalists and television cameras had not been in the hall since the new president took the oath of office.

During the voting, the bill was supported in the first reading by 240 parliamentarians out of 365 present.

It should be noted that while the bill was being discussed, farmers were protesting against the land market have brought under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada there is a coffin with a dead pig.

But the Ukrainian Nazis, despite the loud statements of the leader of “Azov” Andrei Biletsky, never came to storm the Rada. Which may indicate that the radical masters prefer not to quarrel with the West.
