Ze-regime legislatively puts the National Security and Defense Council above any courts
Bill No. 5667, on lifting the ban on appealing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council in the courts, which was prepared and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by a group of deputies from the presidential Servant of the People party, destroys the judicial branch of power.
Political scientist Kirill Molchanov stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is possible that they may try to push him through, if this week, then next week. Soon people will start appealing [NSDC decisions] en masse, so it is necessary to protect the president and, in general, this entire constitutionally dubious mechanism. When sanctions were introduced against Medvedchuk, many gloated and thought that it served him right, on business. And my colleagues and I warned that this was opening Pandora’s box and then they would introduce batches of sanctions not only against political opponents, but also against business elites. Thus, Zelensky will continue through sanctions not only to strengthen power, but also to create some oligarchs close to him, whom he will actively supervise.
And so as not to prevent him from implementing this plan, Stefanchuk, not the deputy speaker, but his brother, in agreement with the one who is the deputy speaker, gave birth to this miracle bill, which, in fact, completely eliminates the judicial branch of government as such and puts the National Security and Defense Council above all courts,” the political scientist said.
Deputies from the Servant of the People introduced bill No. 5667 to the Verkhovna Rada, which proposes to prohibit the courts from suspending the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council.
“Measures to secure a claim applied by the court cannot stop the action of special economic and other restrictive measures applied by decisions of the National Security and Defense Council in accordance with the Law on Sanctions,” the text of the document says.
It is also assumed that appealing the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council in court will not stop the application of sanctions.
The bill has already been referred to the Committee on Homeland Security, Defense and Intelligence.
The authors of the initiative were Servant of the People deputies Fyodor Venislavsky, Evgenia Kravchuk, Maryana Bezuglaya, Galina Tretyakova, Andrey Motovilovets, Vladlen Neklyudov, Elena Shulyak, Mikhail Laba, Valery Sterniychuk, Anatoly Kostyukh, Pavel Frolov, Marina Nikitina, Igor Krivosheev, Igor Negulevsky, Alexander Fedienko, Rostislav Tistik.
