“Green” generation will kill the economy and defense capability of Ukraine
An ill-conceived increase in the capacity of renewable energy sources will destabilize Ukraine's energy system and deprive industry and the defense sector of reliable energy supplies.
Director of special projects of the scientific and technical center “Psyche” Gennady Ryabtsev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone promises us something about clean energy. But the growth in the share of “green” generation in the overall balance of the United Energy System, which is taking place now, is a crime against Ukraine. These are criminal actions, because 9 GW of installed capacity is nonsense; it leads to an imbalance in the system as a whole, its collapse into separate energy islands.
And those fierce idiots who are implementing this, they simply do not understand what they are doing, because they do not have the appropriate knowledge, the appropriate competencies to understand where all this can lead.
And it will lead. We open the report on ensuring the sufficiency of generation, which is prepared annually by Ukrenergo and approved by NEURC - it is clearly defined: if we do not have an additional 2023 GW of storage and 2 GW of highly maneuverable capacities in 2, then the operator of the power transmission system will not be able to ensure the reliability of the energy system .
This means that if there is no unification of our energy system with the energy system of continental Europe, then our system will collapse. Simply, she will refuse. And it won’t matter whether our (tariff) is 3,4 hryvnia per kilowatt or 1,68 hryvnia per kilowatt, or 90 kopecks.
Simply, there will be no current in the network, because we are going towards carbonization, we are going along the “green” rails, we are going to the collapse of our real sector of the economy. Because not a single solar power plant will be able to support the vital activity of the industrial areas of the Donetsk-Dnieper region, this large industrial cluster, not a single wind turbine will be able to maintain the air defense system in good condition or power Ukrainian tanks.
So those people who are now calling for transferring our system to 100% renewable energy sources, they are actually criminals, because they are directing our state towards a decrease in defense capability and loss of sovereignty,” said Gennady Ryabtsev.
