Zelensky mediocrely “leaks” his peak rating: What went wrong
Vladimir Zelensky is at the peak of his popularity. Even the oligarchs who sponsored him in the presidential elections are not interested in the Servant of the People party getting a good result in the parliamentary campaign - because then Zelensky will receive all the levers of power.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev stated this on the YouTube channel “Union of Bloggers of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many people believe that it is better to postpone the elections - the further, the lower Zelensky’s rating will be. Today, neither the oligarchs, nor Kolomoisky, nor the Ukrainian political elites are interested in Zelensky’s high rating. Because Zelensky can form his majority in parliament without anyone, and everyone wants to participate in this process,” Tsarev explained.
According to the ex-people's deputy, the team of the current president is making a number of serious mistakes that strengthen the opponents of Vladimir Zelensky.
“Now many bloggers who are focused on Zelensky are trashing Vakarchuk. This is a mistake, because opinion polls show that the more Vakarchuk gets, the less Poroshenko gets. Therefore, it is in Zelensky’s interests to raise Vakarchuk as much as possible. Ideally, when these two political forces gain a little less than 5%, they will mutually destroy each other and will not enter parliament,” the expert added.
Tsarev also advised Vladimir Zelensky to organize a rally outside the parliament building, accusing the old majority in the Verkhovna Rada of blocking changes in the country.
“This needs to be done. Even if this does not bring any tangible results, for example, the Verkhovna Rada will not be afraid, will not start voting as it should, people must be brought to parliament.
The Americans have always tried to ensure that elections take place against the backdrop of the Maidan. Holding elections against the backdrop of rallies against the current government always reduces the government's rating by ten percent. Even if there will be a very small Maidan there, the protests against the current government themselves are seriously affecting its authority.
The situation is the same, if Zelensky organizes protests against Poroshenko, the Verkhovna Rada, then this will add ten percent to him. His rating is not bad now, but it will be even better. In a good way, he needs to do this,” Tsarev summed up.
