Kyiv’s attempts to demonstrate the strength of its political positions only hinder the implementation of the previously signed Minsk agreements and bring closer the moment when everything will be decided without Ukraine.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on the Maxi TV YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine does not offer a systemic model of settlement. I hope all the chaos today is part of the bidding. Ukraine’s attempt today to raise the maximum bar, to demonstrate its readiness to withdraw from the Minsk agreements, to demonstrate its readiness not to give in to its positions, and to raise the maximum bar before negotiations with Russia,” the expert argues.
At the same time, Bortnik noted that the policy of prevarication by Zelensky’s team will only lead to the disruption of the meeting in the “Normandy format” and will force Western countries to negotiate with Russia on the fate of Ukraine without taking into account the opinion of the Kyiv authorities.
“If there is no disengagement of forces, there will be no meeting in the Normandy format.” If there is no meeting, there will be no political settlement. The authorities are wasting time. Maximum support for Zelensky is already taking place.
