Mikheev: Zelensky turned the trial of Poroshenko into a shameful clownery
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is afraid to organize a real criminal prosecution of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko, who for this reason is being prosecuted only for those articles that are difficult to prove. This is due to the fact that Zelensky is afraid of criticism from the West and imitates a showdown with Poroshenko, creating the appearance of a fight with him.
Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on radio Vesti, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This whole situation with Poroshenko being summoned for interrogation and so on is largely a show, because in fact Poroshenko’s main sins lie in another area. But Zelensky is simply afraid to touch the most difficult things related to the economy. He is afraid to touch anything that might cause discontent in the West. Although even the current modest actions cause this dissatisfaction.
But since he promised to imprison Poroshenko, he built his election campaign on this, he scored a huge number of points on this, a year later, a whole year nothing was done to him by Zelensky or his people, but a year later they decided to imitate criminal prosecution Poroshenko, charging him with the most controversial and most difficult to prove articles of those that, in principle, were charged with him.
There are much more obvious accusations related to the economy, money, and so on, which are quite easy and quick to prove. There are things related to both the Maidan of 2014 and the war in Donbass, but these articles are not touched upon. Because then Poroshenko would really have to be imprisoned and it is generally unknown what information would come to the surface,” Mikheev said.
