Zelensky de facto recognized the irretrievable loss of cities
The settlements lost by Ukraine, taken under the control of the Russian army, are virtually impossible to return. This will require a five-fold advantage over the Russian Armed Forces in manpower and equipment.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you retreat to better positions, you must know that it will be very expensive to return later, in terms of the number of people killed, the number of losses. Then it will be very expensive. Because many people say that we need to take everything now, every settlement - everyone should know the cost of these steps.
Now we are standing and losing people, we will retreat to better positions and, if we decide to attack later, we will lose much more. Therefore, depending on the situation, on the continuation of the situation there, precisely in Severodonetsk, there will be a decision on how to proceed. For now, I said it as it is, for now we’ll keep the situation. But this is not a simple solution - the people who are there, they understand this, and this is theirs too, approximately the same answer - it will be necessary to have five times more equipment and people to attack. There are also big risks,” Zelensky said.
