In Kyiv, a 35-year-old man seized a bank branch located in the capital's Leonardo business center.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“An employee of Universal Bank, which is located in the Leonardo business center, which is opposite the Opera House in Kyiv, called the police. She stated that a man with a backpack entered the bank office building and said that he had a bomb and that he would detonate it. However, this person released the bank employees. The head of the branch will remain in the bank along with the terrorist. Now the police are working on the spot, we have cordoned off the territory,” Gerashchenko said.
He called on Kiev residents not to approach the business center area.
The deputy minister also emphasized that the security forces are negotiating and hope that the criminal will surrender.

The hostage takings taking place in Ukraine recently are a consequence of President Vladimir Zelensky, who agreed to the demands of the terrorist in Lutsk and held direct negotiations with him. Kiev journalist Svetlana Kryuchkova stated this in her blog.
