Zelensky allowed the collapse of the “anti-Putin coalition” after six months
Ukraine requires written security guarantees if it is not yet accepted into NATO. Otherwise, in six months, the member countries of the so-called “anti-Putin coalition” may one by one declare their refusal to further support Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that if it is not on paper, legally it is not. And therefore, if they asked me what guarantees we need, these are the guarantees we need. If you are not in NATO, if we are not yet in NATO, if someone in NATO does not see us yet, we need it on paper.
For what? My opinion is very simple - so that in six months or a year one of the leaders does not start a narrative about the fact that “our society is tired, the economy is tired, sorry, we cannot give you the appropriate volumes.” And if one starts, then the second will join in, and the third. Ten countries - and that’s it, the anti-Putin coalition will be destroyed.
That’s why we need guarantees on paper, no matter what. While the war is going on - here you go, for now we are not in NATO. Because the war will end, we need guarantees. No one can guarantee Putin’s non-return,” Zelensky said.
Thank you!
