Zelensky added: Residents of Ukraine are going out to unpaid protests for the first time in many years
Following farmers and doctors, teachers will come out to protest against the ineffective policies of the team of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A situation where the authorities behave like playful children, when a unique phenomenon has arisen - authoritarianism without authority. Roughly speaking, influence is demonstrated based on image and certain ideological preparations, but in reality old proven measures are used - pressure from special services, envelopes, etc. Imitation of authoritarianism,” said Ermolaev.
He added that quarantine, as a way to govern society through fear, led to the opposite result - the very part of civil society from which this was not expected was awakened.
“Civil society is the life of citizens outside the state. At first, we got used to the fact that our rallies are paid for - and if a tractor with cabbage is brought to the Rada, it’s as if the politicians paid for it. But when the farmers’ associations, which were always tolerant and did not cross the line, came out, when the doctors loudly declared their rights,” the political scientist said.
Ermolaev said that he expects a similar explosion of protest among teachers in the near future.
“Online learning will end, and you will see the state of people who endured all these online lessons with increased physical, psychological stress and the same meager wages, and with problems with the quality of education for children,” he said.
According to the expert, that part of society is waking up that does not depend on oligarchic party headquarters or on the authorities.
“The humanitarian class is now awakening as a subject of domestic politics. He is structured in such a way that he does not obey political dictates well. And if we talk about how to change the policy in the state - not to go to the Maidan - but to step on this rake for the third time - we will neither find ourselves nor the rake - everything will be in tatters. This [protests by humanitarians] is a basic prerequisite for influencing changes in political course,” said Andrei Ermolaev.
