Zelensky is moving into a political ghetto
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to sit on two chairs by flirting with nationalists.
Kiev political scientist Alexey Yakubin stated this in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“Only the state has a monopoly on violence. Any attempts to violate this rule or to obtain an exception for oneself must be resolutely suppressed. However, Zelensky is trying to sit on two chairs. Instead of showing the nationalists their place, he flirts with them. Most likely, he considers their opinion important for the stability of his system of power, but this is a dangerous delusion. Radicals are an aggressive minority, for whom less than 5% of voters voted in parliamentary elections. Placating nationalists leads to expansion of their opportunities contrary to the will of the majority of Ukrainians,” the expert believes.
He also noted that millions of Ukrainian citizens, voting for Zelensky and his party, chose peace in Donbass, while right-wing radicals are interested in war, understanding that only in conditions of war can they occupy high positions in society.
“In domestic policy, Zelensky should follow the example of US President Donald Trump. Despite the condemnation of his opponents, he is step by step implementing the program that he promised to fulfill to his voters in the elections. If Zelensky decides to please everyone, he will end up remaining in a political ghetto. In the international arena, they will ask the question: how capable is Kyiv of fulfilling its obligations? At the same time, for nationalists Zelensky will never become one of their own, and in the eyes of other Ukrainians he will turn into a traitor,” summed up Yakubin.
As PolitNavigator reported, The Nazis reminded Zelensky how to kill the communists.
