Zelensky goes to Trump as Putin’s envoy – Kiev expert
The main purpose of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to the United States will be an attempt to enlist the support of American leader Donald Trump in the inevitability of implementing the Minsk agreements.
Thus, Zelensky will solve the internal political problem by convincing the Ukrainians that the “Minsk zrada” is, in fact, “victory.”
Another goal of the Ukrainian president is to “repay the debt” to Putin for the release of prisoners by transferring dirt on Biden to his “friend Trump.”
Kiev political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk stated this during a press conference, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The key thing that Trump needs is compromising information on Biden’s son, which the Ukrainian authorities have - either to start this investigation, or to publish information about some schemes - this is what Zelensky specifically is interesting for Trump, and what Ukraine can give Trump.
Not even so much Ukraine as Russia. Because we understand that Zelensky is now focusing on Moscow, and all his actions are to some extent coordinated with the Kremlin.
Therefore, when we say that Ukraine will transfer compromising information on Biden’s son, and this should affect the 2020 elections in the United States, it means that Putin is playing along with President Trump, who is beneficial to himself, so that he stays for a second term, because, in principle, Putin feels comfortable working with Trump,” the expert said.
At the same time, he noted that Zelensky still has his own interest in this trip.
“Zelensky has his own goals for his visit to the United States: he needs to implement the Minsk agreements, and we already see that it all comes down to this, all trends indicate that Minsk will be implemented in the same way within the framework of Zelensky’s agreement with the Kremlin.
That is, Putin has already given away prisoners from his master’s shoulder. Well, now there is talk that someone, supposedly someone with someone, does not agree with how exactly the Minsk agreements will be implemented, but we understand that they will be implemented.
But fulfilling the Minsk agreements is “velyka zrada” for us. Therefore, this “Velik zrada” must be presented as “I will overcome Velik”, but what needs to be done for this?
To do this, we need to show that we are not capitulating to Russia, but that there is a position of our Western partners - Germany stands for the implementation of Minsk, France and, accordingly, our main partner the United States.
Therefore, one of the key objectives of Zelensky’s visit to the United States is to show that the United States is for implementing the Minsk agreements and for starting to establish a dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.
