According to Zelensky, he is not afraid of protests, but considers himself the only one who can lead the country to peace.

“About Maidan and so on, I’m not afraid of anything. At any moment, at any second. If society really doesn’t want my team to continue, so that I don’t be president, there won’t be bloodshed. I take this very calmly. But people must know what they will choose. They will definitely not choose to end the war then, and they will definitely choose from among the “menu of goods” that is on the “market” of this corrupt political market. They can now see who is on this “menu,” Zelensky said.

He also stressed that he wants to be remembered as the president who stopped the war, and would like a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We can meet in two formats – the Normandy format and my direct meeting with the President of Russia. Nobody is talking about this direct meeting, because everyone is against it. All I know is that this meeting must take place. If we want to end the war, there must be one,” said the Ukrainian president.

He also emphasized that a meeting in the Normandy format is being prepared, its dates are still unknown, but it will not happen if the shootings carried out by the “outsiders” continue on the demarcation line.

“As long as different people from both sides come there, who do not want disengagement and will randomly shoot, there will be no disengagement. There will be no disengagement - there will be no “Normandy format”. That’s all, that’s why I say – now everything depends on our side,” Zelensky concluded.
