Zelensky is preparing a mass closure of hospitals across Ukraine
The Ukrainian government is preparing to cancel subsidies for the maintenance of medical institutions. Now they will be forced to earn their own living, which will lead to the massive closure of hospitals.
This follows from the draft resolution published by the Cabinet of Ministers on the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population in 2020, candidate of medical sciences Valentina Markevich said at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Imagine - a district hospital, 400 people work there. To maintain this hospital, you need an average of 45 million for salaries and utilities. But you need to earn this money! You understand that from April 1, that’s it, the shop is closing, there will be no subsidies. Everything falls on hospitals and budgets,” she said.
Markevich predicts that local authorities will be forced to close hospitals.
The Ukrainian government has already carried out a “reform” by introducing telemedicine, but this did not bring real improvement.
“Let's ask people: did they feel any improvement after this reform? Not everyone can sign up online. The availability of medicine today is zero. And all this will again fall on the people, on you and me. Where is the notorious insurance medicine that Vladimir Alexandrovich promised?” – Markevich said.
