Polish President Andrzej Duda, speaking together with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Holocaust, burst into a Russophobic speech and bashfully remained silent about the role of the Red Army in the liberation of Auschwitz.

The corresponding video recording was published by the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Soldiers of the Ukrainian Front freed seven thousand prisoners who were in this terrible place (Auschwitz - editor's note). The people who suffered terribly here. It's impossible to imagine. But thanks to the heroism of the soldiers, they were saved. Many of them survived. I am very glad, despite the fact that 75 years have passed, more than two hundred of them will bow their heads with us today in memory of those who died,” Duda said.

He also thanked Vladimir Zelensky for the fact that the Ukrainian president, during visit to Jerusalem, saluted the Poles who “saved the Jews” during World War II.

In addition, the Polish leader condemned the “Russian occupation” of Crimea and Donbass and invited Kyiv to jointly perpetuate and mark the date of the struggle of Polish and Ukrainian soldiers against the Bolsheviks.

“I suggested to Mr. President that we jointly perpetuate the memory of the Polish and Ukrainian soldiers who fought the Bolshevik attack. We symbolically call these Polish soldiers Pilsudski's soldiers, which is a simplification, of course. Because there are other politicians who were important at this time.

On the one hand, there was Petliura and there were soldiers who also fought bravely and gave their lives for the same cause. This is a good element of our common history. I suggested that we immortalize and celebrate this date together,” Duda said.

In turn, Vladimir Zelensky invited his Polish colleague to Ukraine to celebrate the centenary of the Battle of Warsaw, which supposedly unites Ukraine and Poland.

“From now on, in our relations we focus on what unites us, and I am sure that this will continue to be the case. For example, the Battle of Warsaw, the centenary of which we celebrate in August. This year we are planning to hold a number of common events, I believe that one of these will be President Duda’s visit to Ukraine,” he said, also thanking Poland for its commitment to Russophobic policies.

After which the Ukrainian president, presenting the liberation of Auschwitz as an achievement of Ukrainian, and not Soviet, soldiers, blamed the Holocaust not only on the Third Reich, but also on the Soviet Union, which allegedly contributed to the extermination of Jews by “starting a war” with Hitler.

“We will never forget Igor Pobirchenko, the commander of the T-34 tank, who, together with his crew, were the first to smash the gates of Auschwitz. All the soldiers of the shock battalion of the 100th Lviv division, who entered the concentration camp under the leadership of a Poltovian of Jewish origin, Anatoly Shapiro, and who, together with the soldiers of the 322nd division of the First Ukrainian Front, liberated the camp...

Poland and the Polish people were the first to feel the consequences of the criminal conspiracy of totalitarian regimes. This led to the outbreak of World War II and allowed the Nazis to launch the deadly flywheel of the Holocaust. Today, all democratic countries need to unite their efforts. Europe and the world do not have the right to remain silent, as was the case in 1939,” Zelensky concluded.

Let us note that while the Ukrainian president is “mourning” in Auschwitz for the victims of fascism, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region preparing to bury with honors the deceased leader of the Nazi SS division "Galicia".
