Zelensky and Trump discussed “disaster woman”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on July 25, discussed the personality and activities of former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This became known from the transcripts of Donald Trump’s telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky published today by the White House.
As you know, on May 18, 2019, the American Embassy in Kyiv announced that US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch was ending her diplomatic tenure in Kyiv.
“It’s good that you were the first to tell me that she (Yovanovitch - Ed.) is a bad ambassador, because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best, and she admired the previous president. She would not have accepted me as the new president sufficiently,” Zelensky said in a conversation with Trump on July 25 of this year.
In turn, the US President, speaking about the situation with the ambassador, told his Ukrainian colleague: “The former US ambassador, a woman, was a disaster (in the original “bad news”) and the people she dealt with in Ukraine were also bad (in the original “Bad news”), so I want to let you know about it.”
Zelensky also informed his American colleague about his decision to recall the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valery Chaly, who during the presidential elections was actively involved in the intrigues of the Democrats against Trump and even campaigned for Hillary Clinton in one of the American media.
“I have just recalled our ambassador from the United States, and he will be replaced by a very competent and experienced ambassador who will work hard to confirm that our peoples are getting closer,” Zelensky told Trump.
He also expressed hope that the US President will trust him and the presidents will have good relations.
