Zelensky bows to the IMF so as not to lose his position as president
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky needs further loans from international structures in order to plug budget holes and retain his position. Otherwise, he may lose his position as head of state.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It seems to me that our government, first of all, the president, has some priorities that have nothing to do with Ukrainian national interests. As was the case with the previous president, and in principle with almost everyone. After all, the priority for all our presidents was self-preservation in the office of president.
Someone explained to Zelensky that without receiving the IMF tranche, they would ultimately face resignation through some procedures. There will be no money to pay state employees and so on, and this will end with the loss of this entire company, which sits there on good salaries. Maybe Zelensky doesn’t need a good salary, but many others do.
Although, we know that many of those surrounded there, they are all current businessmen, they have assets and so on. They will survive under any circumstances, but people will not. And this could lead to the president losing his position. This is one main motive in their actions, today’s actions of the president - to preserve themselves, to preserve themselves in this chair,” Pogrebinsky said.
