“Zelensky is seizing Ukraine from the oligarchs and handing it over to the West” - expert
Post-Maidan Ukraine was an oligarchic “Latin American” state, but now the country is becoming a colony of transnational companies.
This was stated during a press conference by a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations, political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The difference between (Zelensky - ed.) and Poroshenko is that Poroshenko very clearly identified himself, probably without sincerely sharing, with the Ukrainian nationalist ideology,” the expert said. – “Faith, language, Ukrainianization”, militarization, creation of an autocephalous church. Zelensky has none of this, he is frankly a non-ideological person, but under him all the same processes continue.”
According to Bezpalko, under Poroshenko there was a balance of domestic oligarchs who did not want to lose their property in favor of Western companies. He may have had extremely tense relationships with Akhmetov and Kolomoisky, but on external issues they had a consensus.
“And now Mr. Zelensky is surrendering the sovereignty of Ukraine even more; he is more manipulable for the West,” says a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation. – Now there is an even greater dismantling of the residual deep oligarchic sovereignty that Ukraine had. Ukraine was a classic Latin American state, where everything was in favor of the oligarchs, but now this system is being dismantled.”
At the same time, the expert notes that dismantling is “not in favor of the people, but in favor of international structures.”
