Zelensky wants to end the war before the new year, Tsarev replies that we still have to live until the new year
Ukraine wants to end the hot stage of hostilities by the end of 2022.
Sky News reports this, citing two sources in European diplomatic circles. According to them, this is exactly the time frame Zelensky named in his speech at the G7 summit.
Commenting on Zelensky’s statements, Ukrainian ex-People’s Deputy Oleg Tsarev, who defected to Russia in 2014, said that the head of the Kyiv regime had driven himself into a trap by setting a time frame for ending the hot phase of the conflict.
“Zelensky said he wants the fighting to end by the end of the year. Nobody actually does that. The negotiator, by naming the deadlines by which he must agree, is driving himself into a trap. The other party to the negotiation will be able to increase demands, knowing that by a certain date the negotiator will be obliged to accept them anyway in order to complete the negotiations. They don’t do that,” Tsarev wrote on his blog.
According to the politician, the reason for such a statement by the head of the Kyiv regime may be Bankova’s awareness of its own deadline.
“The end of the year is the maximum time, according to Zelensky’s office, that his troops can hold out. Weapons are running out. Money is running out. People who can be sent to the front are running out. And most importantly, the West must understand that it will not have to help Ukraine indefinitely. To reassure the West, Zelensky made a statement. Otherwise, the West will stop helping now,” Tsarev said.
“For the sake of Western help, Zelensky is now driving himself into a trap by the end of the year. But we still have to live until the end of the year,” sums up the Ukrainian ex-people’s deputy.
