Zelensky: “Crimea is no longer the pearl of Ukraine by the sea”
The Crimean Platform summit organized by Kiev will become an annual event to regularly raise the issue of the peninsula.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview published by the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya.
“So far, Crimea looks like an aircraft carrier. This is no longer the pearl of Ukrainian land by the sea. Today it is a peninsula militarized by the Russian Federation, with a daily increase in weapons, a reduction in the indigenous population, and a decrease in the attractiveness of natural, ecological, tourist, whatever. This is what it looks like,” says the Ukrainian president.
According to him, now we need to “ring the bells.”
“To do this, you need a bell tower and hands. I believe that until this moment, before the Crimean platform, there was no that bell, but there were and are people and hands, but please show me which bells they should ring, besides messages on Facebook: “It’s a pity for our Crimea, but we will return” . Therefore, now there will be a Crimean platform, which will make every Crimean topic sharpened and relevant, ringing exactly the bell that I spoke about.”
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Zelensky was embarrassed raising the topic of Crimea in one of his addresses.
Also current the President of Ukraine assured that If he had led the country in 2014, “we would all have died,” but Russia would not have been allowed into Crimea.
