“Zelensky will fall under Putin”
Comedian and presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky cannot be a national symbol because he is not an ethnic Ukrainian.
The ex-head of UNA-UNSO Dmitry Korchinsky stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
“I believe that the president of Ukraine should be an ethnic Ukrainian who lives by Ukrainian archetypes and uses the Ukrainian language. A Kazakh or a Jew can be anyone, but the president is a national symbol. How should we have a Ukrainian national flag, not the flag of Israel, Kazakhstan, but the flag of Ukraine.
Therefore, the president is a symbol, this is his main function. Zelensky does not like the Ukrainian language, is not an ethnic Ukrainian, so he cannot be a national symbol of Ukraine. Among other things, if Putin really interests Zelensky, he will fall under him. There's nothing keeping him here. It can work anywhere
