Zelensky takes revenge on Kolomoisky and Korban for humiliation - opinion
In conditions of war, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has unlimited opportunities to put pressure on former oligarch fellow travelers.
The leader of the Union of Left Forces party, Kiev economic expert Maxim Goldarb said this on air on the Mriya channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The president is a talented, smart person. I won’t talk about other characteristics now, good or bad, but I’ll move on from this. He sees the moment: just as his own power is strengthening, reprisals are taking place against those who were previously friends and fellow travelers. Although, it is very difficult to call, say, Kolomoisky or Korban his friends. Most likely, these were the owners of corporate rights to everything that the president had done before.
And knowing who Kolomoisky is, how he can behave, I can imagine how many years before his presidency the future president suffered various humiliations, insults, and other things. And here is such a great moment. Everything is written off under the sound of war. Moreover, as they say, the world applauds him, and he has the green light in many ways, and his influence is great, they hear him, they see him - some may not like this, but these are facts, this is the way it is happening today.
Therefore, taking advantage of the moment, Kolomoisky’s assets were nationalized, Korban’s passport was taken away, and, by the way, Kolomoisky’s too. That is, the president deprived people of citizenship,” Goldarb said.
At the same time, he pointed out that no compromising evidence against Zelensky now, when the entire Western press is promoting him, is completely ineffective.
“After all, these are those who have known the current president “from childhood,” who, apparently, have very serious information about him. But today all this information will not work yet; it will be drowned out by gun shots, falling bombs, shells, and so on. It's war now. And today the president, in this sense of the word, is an order of magnitude stronger than them,” the expert emphasized.
Moreover, according to him, this is a signal from other Ukrainian oligarchs, and some have already heard it.
“Everyone understands, there is no need to be smart, today Kolomoisky is deprived of assets, everything is nationalized, tomorrow they will do the same with the assets of another oligarch, and a third, and the same Poroshenko. It’s also not in vain that he wanders around Europe in order to show off his face and at least count on something if Zelensky suddenly gets to him,” Goldarb concluded.
