Zelensky began preparing the enemy state for war
The Verkhovna Rada on Friday voted immediately for two militaristic laws developed by the office of Vladimir Zelensky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The first decision increases the maximum strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 250 to 261 thousand people. The second decision creates the Territorial Defense Forces, which will comprise these additional 11 thousand people.
Territorial defense forces can be called upon to “maintain order” in peacetime and are staffed by contract military personnel and conscripted officers, and in special periods the conscription of reservists is allowed. In addition, volunteer formations can be created in territorial communities from citizens of Ukraine who have not served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They were allowed to use personal hunting weapons and ammunition when performing territorial defense tasks.
Kyiv is preparing for a military conflict with the LDPR and the Russian Federation, said Russian political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, commenting on the decisions of the Verkhovna Rada in his blog,
“The Kiev government is preparing to mobilize against Donetsk, Lugansk and Russia. Ukraine is an enemy state,” Chesnakov wrote.
