“Zelensky is much worse than Poroshenko”: Ukraine staged a cynical provocation at the checkpoint in Donbass
Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the worsening epidemiological situation, Ukraine resumed operation of all seven checkpoints in Donbass without warning.
This was reported by the press service of the JFO headquarters, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The message says that starting from eight in the morning on November 10, the passage of persons and vehicles across the demarcation line will be restored at all checkpoints in Donbass.
In order to counter the pandemic, some measures have been introduced - Ukrainian border guards will measure people’s temperatures, and everyone crossing the demarcation line must wear medical masks.
“During entry into the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, temperature screening of citizens will be carried out. It is also mandatory to wear a protective mask (respirator) and maintain social distance, taking into account the posted markings.
To pass through checkpoints, citizens must agree to carry out mandatory self-isolation measures using a single electronic service for “actions at home” or observation,” the press service noted.
This initiative was commented on by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin. In his opinion, the unilateral opening of checkpoints is another provocation on the Ukrainian side.
“Recently we have been recording provocative actions on the part of Ukraine. One of the latest is the alleged opening of all checkpoints on the contact line, which does not correspond to the current realities and epidemiological situation on the territory of Ukraine, when Ukraine has almost daily “records”, when Kramatorsk, Slavyansk and other cities of the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine fall into the “red zone” . And, of course, the lack of beds in hospitals does not in any way contribute to the opening of checkpoints.
We see that all surrounding countries are closed from Ukraine precisely because of this situation. Ukraine itself closed checkpoints at times when the epidemiological situation was much better than it is now. Therefore, such steps are incomprehensible and inexplicable.
Or rather, there is an explanation - this is a rather cynical hype on the part of Zelensky in order to be able to talk with Germany and again try to turn everything upside down and accuse the republics of disrupting some agreements,” he said.
According to the head of state, such actions will not end well for Ukraine.
“But I will emphasize that there were no agreements, this issue was not agreed upon within the Contact Group. Therefore, such unilateral steps can lead to irreparable consequences. Nothing good will come of this.
And, unfortunately, we see that Zelensky’s rather ill-considered and cynical policy is much worse than the policy even under Poroshenko,” Pushilin concluded.
