Zelensky is asking for a Putin-Biden summit
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky invited his American counterpart Joe Biden to organize trilateral negotiations with Moscow regarding a peaceful settlement in Donbass.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the United States wants to be involved in a peaceful settlement in Donbass, but will continue bilateral negotiations with Moscow.
“Zelensky suggested to Biden - and we think it might make sense - to organize a trilateral meeting, perhaps via videoconference, between President Biden, President Zelensky and President Putin. We are still waiting for a response from Russia,” Yermak said.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov believes that the Ukrainian president plans to raise his status by participating in such a meeting.
“Is Zelensky really ready to abandon Ukraine’s accession to NATO? And if you’re not ready, why take the baby third to the meeting of giants with your agenda? An entire summit just to raise the status of the President of Ukraine? They will wipe out his snot on a different level,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
