Zelensky – NATO: give us weapons and we will seize Crimea
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky criticized Germany, which does not want to provide its tanks before the United States does so.
As part of the “Ukrainian breakfast” at the forum in Davos, he said that Ukraine is defending Europe and demanded not to restrain itself in the supply of weapons, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no need to hesitate or compare. When you say: “I will give tanks if someone else also gives tanks. I am powerful in Europe, I will help if someone outside Europe will also help.” It seems to me that this is not a very correct strategy. This is the same as us, citizens of Ukraine, a state in which there are more than a hundred nationalities, dozens of different minorities. And then suddenly the military will start saying: “We protect these, but we don’t protect these.” We cannot divide - we are all citizens of Ukraine, this is how it is, regardless of who has what ethnic roots. And we are citizens of Ukraine who today defend Europeans and all their values. These are very important points. Therefore, there cannot be fragmented assistance or selectivity in strengthening our army. We need all our strength, because we are fighting against all this tyranny, which publicly calls itself neighbors,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president also demanded long-range systems to hit the liberated territories that were included in Russia:
“We need systems that can operate over a long distance. And we are not talking today about the Russian Federation, although everyone understands that there will be no love between Ukrainians and Russians after what they did here. However, we are talking about our occupied territories - missiles are flying from there today, artillery is coming, using the example of Kherson - there is artillery and weapons on the other side, but we cannot reach it, it is absolutely fair to protect our people... For this we need appropriate weapons , the partners have it.”
Zelensky spoke separately about plans to “return Crimea.”
“This is our land. Our goal is to de-occupy all our territories. Crimea is our land, Crimea is our territory, it is our sea and our mountains. Give us your weapons, we will return ours."
