Zelensky leaves Russia no choice but to recognize Donetsk and Lugansk - State Duma deputy
Strengthening presidential power in Ukraine will lead to repression of opponents, as Vladimir Zelensky will do everything to please his Western mentors and build an authoritarian presidential republic.
This opinion was expressed on the Rossiya 1 TV channel by State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Denis Parfyonov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is an intensification of the movement towards presidential power through authoritarian methods. Now parliament is being stripped of its immunity. They are depriving anyone for a very simple task, for repression.
In addition, they now want to bring Medvedchuk’s party under the monastery under the guise that they are foreign agents. Everything is quite obviously heading towards this.
All that remains is to find justice for Yulia, probably, and they will deal with her.
And what we have: a cleared political field, an absolutely powerless parliament, authoritarian methods of governance.
And so, with such baggage, we get a presidential republic, which allows you to ensure controllability for any processes.
It will be necessary to sell the land, or, on the recommendation of the IMF, to reset the entire social system and leave all pensioners, hard workers, mothers to self-sufficiency - then they will leave it and sell the land, because it will be beneficial to Western customers. The president wants to sit down at the same table with them and talk with Putin,” Parfenov said.
The expert also called on the Russian government to finally take a decisive step and recognize the Donbass republics.
“The most important thing in his speech is the participation of Western leaders in the negotiations. If Russia still wants Ukraine to improve its policy towards Donbass, whether it likes it or not, it will have to take a bolder position and move towards recognition of Donetsk and Lugansk.
This is the only way to force Ukraine to behave like a human being,” said the State Duma deputy.
