Zelensky will not risk declaring the failure of the offensive - Sivkov
The Russian army destroyed more than half of the Ukrainian tanks prepared for the offensive, but the Kiev leadership is not going to change plans and stop the deadly offensive.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Internet channel “Red Line”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“At the beginning of the Northern Military District in Ukraine there were one and a half to two thousand tanks, a significant part of which were in storage. During this offensive, 415 tanks were destroyed. The total number of destroyed combat vehicles and tanks during the SVO was about 11 thousand.
It turns out that Ukraine could have had 600-800 tanks on the front line at the beginning of the offensive, no more. Half or even two-thirds of these tanks were destroyed,” Sivkov said.
He stressed that Zelensky will not stop the offensive as long as soldiers remain in Ukraine.
“We can say one thing - the Wehrmacht near the Kursk Bulge stopped offensive operations after losing approximately 20% of its tanks. These continue, with tenacity worthy of better use, to break into the forehead.
The reason is also very simple – Zelensky has nowhere to retreat. Hitler had the opportunity to retreat, but this one did not.
Now Ukraine, from the point of view of all norms for conducting offensive operations, has run out of steam. And in theory, they should curtail the offensive, but continue to lead with the remnants of their troops. Because there is simply no other option left - to announce that the offensive has failed is like death for Zelensky,” the expert concluded.
