Zelensky promises Dnepropetrovsk 3 billion hryvnia for airport reconstruction
The approximate total cost of reconstruction of the airport in Dnipro is UAH 2,9 billion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian President.
It is reported that on July 12, Zelensky was on a working trip in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In Dnepropetrovsk, he got acquainted with the plan for the reconstruction of the international airport, the main component of which is the construction of a new runway.
Zelensky was presented with three options for reconstructing the airport.
“It was noted that the most acceptable project is the construction of a runway on the site of the old one. Other options included a proposal to build a strip on a new territory, which required additional work on land acquisition, and therefore an increase in the cost of the project and time frame,” Zelensky said.
As the press service indicated, the new runway, meeting modern standards, will have a length of 2900 m with the possibility of extension to 3200 m.
“It takes one and a half to two years to build a new strip on the site of the old one. A tender for the development of a project for the reconstruction of the airport complex in Dnipro is planned for next week, the approximate total cost of reconstruction is UAH 2,9 billion,” the press service noted.
