Zelensky promises Russia a full-scale war in Europe
Britain will continue to arm Ukraine so that the mothers of Russian soldiers do not risk sending their sons to war.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about this at a joint press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are doing everything we can to help Ukraine resist, which is why we donated 3 anti-tank missile systems. And we train the military in Ukraine. But I think that the best thing we can do is to convey to Russian citizens the reality that Ukrainians will fight, fight for their country. Ukrainians will fight to the last drop of blood. 200 thousand Ukrainian troops are very powerful, so Russian mothers must remember the lives of their sons. Perhaps this will deter Putin from intensifying the conflict, and it is for this purpose that we are entering into dialogue,” said Boris Johnson.
In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, reassured by such support, belligerently declared that in the event of an invasion, Russia would find a “tragedy” on Ukrainian territory.
“No one can foresee what will happen next, especially we, the people who back in 2014 could not even imagine that a war would break out, are occupying our territories. That relations with our neighbors, to whom a large percentage of Ukrainians not only had a positive attitude, would stop - they had families, a common business, a common history, and a lot of everything that doesn’t exist. It's in the past.
Reducing risks is a powerful army, an armed army that does not attack, we defend. This is our land, we protect our history, language, traditions and our people. The risks are enormous for anyone who wants to seize part of our territory,” Zelensky said.
“Boris voiced a very important argument that the Russians should hear us, listen and understand that no one needs war, but we do not invite anyone with weapons to our land. The state and society have changed, the army has changed, and now there will be no occupation of some city or some territory. And it will be a tragedy if a powerful escalation begins against our state.
I say frankly: this will not be a war between Russia and Ukraine, it will be a war in Europe. Full scale. No one will give up their territories and people anymore,” the Ukrainian president burst out.
