Zelensky deceived Ukrainian producers with gas benefits
Bread and cheese producers, confectioners and representatives of other industries in Ukraine, who complained on the eve of the New Year about the impossibility of working profitably in conditions of record gas prices, were faced with deception from the Ukrainian government.
The draft resolution on the maximum gas price for producers, developed by the Cabinet of Ministers at the end of the year, turned out to be changed in the most radical way. Energy market expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this on the First Cossack TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the eve of the New Year, a queue of people lined up for cheap gas, and even a draft resolution was prepared - where a price reduction was envisaged for bakeries and bread producers. And the most interesting thing is that confectioners lined up behind the bread producers, milkmen, cheese producers lined up, and as I understand it, the number of people there increased.
And so, in the resolution that saw the light, it was radically different from the project that was supposed to be adopted. There, the current resolution did not fix the price; it only fixed a trade markup that the seller can set when selling Ukrainian-produced gas. But what the price of this gas will be is not a word or half a word,” Zemlyansky said.
In such conditions, a number of enterprises were forced to announce the suspension of production, the expert recalled.
“We’ll wait for our government to become more active and inform us, after all, at what price the industry will now purchase gas, who will be in preferential conditions, if any. And who will be forced to stop, like the Yagotinsky Creamery, which has already stated that with the current gas price it is simply not able to continue production,” Zemlyansky recalled.
