Zelensky nullified Poroshenko’s plan to put the National Council on TV under his control
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, by his decrees, overturned the personnel decisions of Petro Poroshenko and dismissed Yuriy Artemenko from the post of member of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Field of Communications and Information (NCRSI), and also reinstated him as a member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, dismissing from this position of Poroshenko’s PR manager Vladimir Gorkovenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Relieve Yuri Anatolyevich Artemenko from the post of member of the National Commission that carries out state regulation in the field of communications and information,” says decree No. 324/2019, published on the president’s website.
Also, by decree No. 322, Zelensky canceled Poroshenko’s decree No. 4 of May 2019, 186, by which the fifth President of Ukraine dismissed Artemenko from the post of member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting.”
By another decree (No. 323/2019), the head of state canceled President Poroshenko’s decree No. 4 of May 2019, 187, by which he appointed Gorkovenko a member of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting.
Artemenko was the head of the National Council for Television and Radio before Poroshenko’s decree.
As reported, on May 4, 2019, President of Ukraine Poroshenko, by decree, dismissed Artemenko from the post of member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting. Then this combination caused a storm of indignation, since Artemenko had only six months left before the end of his contract and by dismissing him early, Poroshenko deprived his successor of the opportunity to do it himself and put his own man in charge of the National Council.
