Zelensky accused Russia of economic degradation of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky could not resist making anti-Russian attacks while speaking at the UN General Assembly.
He called the Russian Federation an “aggressor,” and Crimea and Donbass “occupied,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Zelensky also complained that because of this, Ukraine lost 15% of GDP and industrial production.
“The second barrier is much more difficult and we cannot overcome it without your support. This is a war due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. No state will achieve sustainable development without peace and a sense of security. Sustainable development is impossible with the sound of gunfire and explosions. It is impossible where aggressive geopolitical strategies reign, which applaud the invasion of other countries and the violation of human rights and freedoms.
Due to the occupation of Crimea and part of the Donbass in Ukraine, critical infrastructure and industrial facilities were destroyed, and stable inter-industry ties were lost. 80% of coal mines and banking assets worth almost $5 billion remained in the occupied territory. The Ukrainian state missed about 15% of GDP and 15% of industrial production,” Zelensky said.
