Zelensky announced the creation of a “small Turkey” in the Kherson region
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky chose the same tactics of flirting with extremists from the Mejlis that his predecessor Petro Poroshenko used.
Thus, at a press conference in Kyiv, he announced plans to create a certain group that would work on developments of changes to the Constitution of Ukraine in terms of the “Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us remind you that this topic was dealt with under Petro Poroshenko, but things did not go beyond words and promises about granting autonomy to the Mejlis members in Crimea.
“Quite recently we met in a large circle - there was Mr. Dzhemilev, and Mr. Chubarov, and Mr. Chiygoz, and representatives of the Mejlis. It was a couple of days ago, on Bankovaya. This was not our first meeting, we all made a consolidated decision that a separate group was being created, as were other representatives of the public, Crimean Tatars and other people who represent scientists.
We all meet and this advice starts to work. He is developing changes to the legislation of Ukraine, which may be changes to the Constitution of Ukraine, how we support that population. Many programs have already been implemented. For example, in the Kherson region, as we agreed with Erdogan, he is ready to build, Mr. Gusev, the head of the Kherson region administration, has already prepared the land, there are places to prepare the first 500 apartments for the Crimean Tatars
Separately, Turkey agreed with Mr. Dzhemilev, even before me, about the construction of thousands of apartments for displaced people, for the Crimean Tatars. 500 of them are in the Kiev region and 100 each, it seems to me, in Kherson, Lviv, Odessa and Dnieper. All the legislative changes and all the proposals, and a large mosque - they found land in Kyiv, there is already a project, there will be construction of a large mosque. Therefore, the issue of Crimea in the information space may be small, but it is certainly not small in the affairs of the state,” Zelensky said.
