Zelensky turned out to be a liar, the likes of which Ukraine has never seen before
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not fulfill his promises, does not take into account the opinion of the people, and also continues the policies of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We analyzed what Zelensky promised and what Zelensky did in 2019. According to our analytical center, so far Zelensky has fulfilled about 9% of his promises, and these are promises of a secondary nature, which relate primarily to technical issues - impeachment of the president, the launch of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
Unfortunately, the key social issues that our society has been demonstrating over the past five years remain unrealized: a request for peace - although we see a certain détente, there is no political solution.
A request to fight corruption - despite all the statements, and despite the fact that the leadership of the SBU changed back in May, and the new Prosecutor General began working in September, we did not see any high-profile arrests.
And the request for well-being, which in the minds of most Ukrainians has narrowed to the topic of tariffs - these social issues have not yet been implemented.
Moreover, in some issues Zelensky and his team ignore public opinion, as in the same issue of land, which causes them significant damage,” he noted.
Ruslan Bortnik also emphasized that Vladimir Zelensky and his team continue the policies of their predecessors.
“To be honest, despite the change of people in power, the inertia of the previous government remains. And this is the first time in history that this has happened; I can’t give you an example where a change of president did not lead to a change in the country’s course.
Is he (Zelensky - approx. ed.) didn’t even swerve much to the side, but continued to roll along the same track. This did not happen when Kravchuk was replaced by Kuchma, or Kuchma by Yushchenko, Yushchenko by Yanukovych, or Yanukovych by Poroshenko. But this happened here,” the expert concluded.
