Zelensky refused harsh statements against Moscow
In Moscow they believe that return to Ukraine ships previously detained in the Kerch Strait, as well as the September “great exchange” improves the background for the upcoming negotiations in Paris in the “Normandy format”.
Kommersant writes about this, citing interlocutors involved in the Ukrainian direction in Russian government agencies.
“Now there’s a different atmosphere [for negotiations],” the publication’s interlocutor.
At the same time, he does not rule out that in Paris, in addition to the four-party negotiations on Donbass, a bilateral meeting of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine may take place.
“Everything will depend on the background. A lot can happen in three weeks. But please note that Zelensky does not allow harsh statements against Moscow, he tries to speak neutrally,” the newspaper’s source noted.
However, another interlocutor of the publication added that a face-to-face meeting is not planned and is not being considered by Moscow, but did not rule out such an option. He also clarified that following the meeting, a “dry document” will be adopted, which is already ready.
