Zelensky opened the way for the legalization of foreign criminals in Ukraine
The law on a simplified procedure for granting citizenship to foreigners who took part in the so-called “OOS” in Donbass, signed on August 13 by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, makes it possible to legalize militants who are wanted on the territory of their states.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The bill contains information that obtaining a residence permit in a simplified manner is provided for persons who served under a contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as for those who participated in the defense of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The second group includes all the so-called volunteers who came from abroad to kill the people of Donbass,” he said.
According to a representative of the defense department, the signing of this law by the president has already provoked the creation of commercial firms in various countries that offer the service of legalizing citizens who are wanted on the territory of their states through obtaining Ukrainian citizenship.
“For a relatively low cost, foreigners, mainly from the countries of the Middle East, Georgia, and the Baltic states, are offered to enlist in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the National Guard, after which they can obtain citizenship in a short time using an accelerated procedure,” Osadchiy explained.
Let us recall that earlier, former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Kherson region, Alexey Zhuravko, said that not a single self-respecting country in the world would distribute citizenship to mercenaries and other marginalized people, however, Ukraine is not one of the normal states.
