President Vladimir Zelensky familiarized himself with the concept of moving from the building of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, located on...

“I really like it,” Zelensky commented on the relocation concept presented to him by architects and designers.

Experts explained to Zelensky the feasibility of the move and what his new place of work might look like. Thus, they noted, the area of the “Ukrainian House” is 8 thousand square meters. m, it can accommodate 650 employees of a potential presidential office. “This is a very good and comfortable indicator,” the designers assured Zelensky.

The President was offered two options for placing his office in the “Ukrainian House” - with windows facing the Dnieper, and with windows facing the European Square, on which the building is located, explaining that in this case “people will see light in the office of the head of state and understand that the president is working.” Zelensky preferred the second option, calling it “very symbolic.”

The walls of the office, according to the presented plan, are glass. The building is planned to be equipped with modern communications, and a fountain will be installed nearby.

At a meeting with Zelensky, Deputy Director for Development of the National Art Museum of Ukraine Olga Balashova noted the symbolism of the possible move of the head of state to the Ukrainian House. “When the first Lenin Museum appeared in Kyiv in 1919, it occupied the premises of the Central Rada. And now you want to move to the former Lenin Museum, that is, this is like returning historical justice in a certain way,” she believes.

In the current presidential administration building on Bankova Street, Zelensky proposed organizing a “good historical museum” with an art gallery.

“Ukrainian House” is located in Kyiv in the southern part of Vladimirskaya Gorka Park, at the very beginning of Khreshchatyk Street, on European Square, in the premises of the former Central Museum of V. I. Lenin.

Earlier, Zelensky spoke about plans to eventually move the Presidential Administration from the center of Kyiv, and to create an art museum on Bankova Street, during an informal meeting with journalists in the AP.

When asked whether the move would definitely happen, Zelensky replied: “I want it. The main problem for me now is the timing. Because building from the very beginning is impossible. You can’t be here, I’ll move with my mind.”

In response to the remark that the former head of the State Security Administration, Valery Geletey, said that it would take 3 years to build a new building “from scratch,” the president snapped: “I know. Geletey no longer works for us.”

“I don’t know how much from scratch - that’s a question for the architects. I have an idea. There is already a plan, there are already deadlines, there are specific buildings,” Zelensky noted.

“There is one question that I did not agree to, so now they are looking for a financial scheme - a normal scheme, not some kind of shadow one - so as not to take money from the budget. Although they have something for this, I don’t want to take anything at all. This is the only issue that can prevent a very quick move,” he added.

“And you will see. There is an idea, everything has already been drawn. We have a very cool idea of what to do with Bankova,” said the head of state.

When asked whether it would be a museum, Zelensky answered in the affirmative: “Yes, a large art museum.”

“There are a lot of paintings that people can’t see because there’s simply no space. It is in storage. Is it cool?” he said.

When asked how many employees he would leave in the Administration, since there are currently 420 people working, Zelensky replied: “Oh, you’re getting ahead of yourself... I signed something today regarding the reformation of the Administration - you will see there will be fewer people.”
