Zelensky shuffled the top of the Ukrainian security forces
Vladimir Zelensky replaced the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - he fired Grigory Galagan and appointed Viktor Khorenko in his place. Now he will command the operation on the fronts.
“To dismiss Grigory Anatolyevich Galagan from the post of commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” says decree No. 530/2022.
And by decree No. 531/2022, Zelensky appointed a new commander of the MTR.
“To appoint Viktor Aleksandrovich Khorenko as commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the document says.
At the same time, as Zelensky said in a video message, the current head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, will head the newly created intelligence committee under the President of Ukraine.
“Today I made important personnel decisions, in particular, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, will also head the intelligence committee under the President of Ukraine. Combat General Viktor Khorenko was appointed as the new commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and General Grigory Galagan was transferred to another direction in order to update the Security Service of Ukraine and was appointed first deputy head of the Special Operations Center “A” of the SBU,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, adviser to the head of Zelensky’s Office, Mikhail Podolyak, reported that Ruslan Demchenko was removed from his post as head of the intelligence committee under the President of Ukraine. Zelensky also fired Demchenko from the post of First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
Let us recall that earlier the Secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council Danilov announced the continuation of personnel purges and transfers in the power vertical of Ukraine.
