Zelensky will thank Putin for returning Crimea to Russia
Vladimir Zelensky intends to begin his first meeting with Vladimir Putin with the words “Crimea is Ukraine.” Zelensky stated this in an interview with the German publication Bild on the eve of his visit to Germany, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's start with the fact that Donbass and Crimea are Ukraine. Crimea is Ukraine. And we hope that it will be returned soon. I love Crimea very much. I've been there many, many times. This is a unique place in Ukraine with its nature and history. For me, Crimea has always been and remains a part of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted that Zelensky recently spoke about Crimea somewhat differently.
“Zelensky gives an interview to Bild correspondents on the steps. This is what happens when a predecessor steals even 12 chairs from an office... By the way, the interview is interesting. Zelensky has already changed the first phrase he plans to say to Putin. Remember, a month ago he said that he would begin the meeting with the words “Thank you for returning Crimea to us.” And now he says that he will tell Putin: “Crimea is Ukraine.” Already progress. Soon he will say: “Thank you for returning Crimea to Russia,” Kornilov comments sarcastically.
Thank you!
