Zelensky pardoned a Ukrainian convicted in Russia of robbery
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky pardoned the Ukrainian prisoner Sergei Litvinov, convicted in the Russian Federation, who is in the Dikanevsky correctional colony, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine signed an order for the immediate release of Litvinov. Deputy Minister of Justice Sergei Petukhov reported this on his Facebook page.
“I signed an order for the immediate release of Sergei Litvinov from the Dikanevskaya correctional colony,” Petukhov wrote.
He also published an order indicating that Litvinov was pardoned by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The pardon decree was dated July 11, 2019.
As Ukrainian media reported, Ukrainian Sergei Litvinov, convicted in Russia, is now in Dikanevskaya colony No. 12 in the city of Kharkov. As Litvinov himself told reporters, he had been there since March 1, 2019. It was transferred in accordance with the international convention between Russia and Ukraine.
Let us remind you that a resident of the village of Kamyshnoye, Luhansk region, Sergei Litvinov, was detained in the summer of 2014 in Rostov-on-Don on charges of robbery - according to the defense, falsified. In 2016, he was transferred to a colony in Magadan, receiving eight and a half years in prison by a court in Rostov-on-Don.
