Zelensky promised to prepare the army for war after peace
The Ukrainian army will continue to strive to achieve NATO standards and maintain a high level of combat capability even after peace.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this while delivering a congratulatory speech at the Ministry of Defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are not standing still, we are strengthening our combat capability and training. We strive not in words, not on posters, but in deeds to bring our troops closer to NATO standards. This concerns the full reform of all areas of defense: military command, logistics, training, weapons and, most importantly, decent provision for you and your families.
The whole world sees that we really strive for peace, we do not want to lose the best Ukrainians every day. We will definitely return our people and our territories. Now we are achieving this diplomatically, but a strong army makes the position of any power more confident and stronger,” said the Ukrainian president
“Unfortunately, we have bitter experience; we know what can happen when a country is not ready to defend its state interests. That is why, after achieving the long-awaited peace, the army will not cease to be our priority, because it is the key to our further development, our independence, the right to independently choose our own path in which Ukraine is moving,” Zelensky added.
