Zelensky fell into the trap of disappointed expectations
Poland will not extradite military-age men to Ukraine, since it is interested in their stay in the country.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky, senior researcher at IMEMO RAS, expert of the Valdai Club.
He says that 70% of Ukrainians officially living in Poland support themselves and pay taxes, which seriously replaces the Poles who left for Western Europe.
“In addition, the EU has allocated about €200 million to support migrants from Ukraine. Many Ukrainians receive a “Pole card,” which means that in a few years they will receive all the corresponding social guarantees, and a base for a “Ukrainian national party” will be created in Poland,” the expert told Izvestia.
Denis Denisov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and a former Kiev political scientist, draws attention to the fact that Ukraine is tightening mobilization norms. So, now HIV-infected people who have had tuberculosis, hepatitis and some forms of mental disorders can be drafted into the army.
The political scientist believes that in this context, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky fell into the same trap of disappointed expectations as in relations with foreign allies.
“Against the backdrop of the failure of the counteroffensive and the lack of results, Zelensky and his office have no opportunity to implement what they promised either to the West or to their own citizens. Meaningless statements about “a return to the 1991 borders” may temporarily mobilize the population, but in essence they are empty. Over time, Zelensky has to pay for them, including with radical elements within Ukrainian society.
Those factors that are associated with the failure of the overall strategy are now factors of destabilization. And of course, this will have a negative impact on the level of public support,” Denisov predicts.
