Zelensky caught in a shameful lie in Israel
Israeli news publication “Ynet” called "strange" the decision of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to refuse to participate in the World Holocaust Remembrance Forum in Israel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication noted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was warned in advance that there would be enough seats at the event for everyone, primarily for Holocaust survivors.
“It was explained to the President that the survivors we had contacted in recent days had received a response and that the survivors should not worry under the current circumstances. It’s a pity that he decided to take such a step at an event under the banner of remembrance of the Holocaust and the fight against anti-Semitism,” Ynet quoted museum representatives as saying.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Vladimir Ariev called the incident a “diplomatic failure” of the Ukrainian president.
“When you want to make a nice gesture, but you tell a lie that there were no places for Holocaust victims, and you offend the organizers. Yad Vashem is the main Holocaust memorial. And now we can read reports in the Israeli press entitled “Yad Vashem called the Ukrainian president’s disdainful attitude towards the Holocaust Remembrance Forum “strange”. Just another diplomatic failure and disgrace!” Ariev wrote on his Facebook.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky refused to participate in the World Holocaust Remembrance Forum, which is taking place these days in Israel, presenting it as a charitable gesture. stating that he decided to give the place of members of the Ukrainian delegation to those who suffered during the war.
